Introduction iEmail - Email Messaging Platform. Without doubt email has become one of the most important tools of the business world. It wasn't always that way however, and the humble beginnings of email with simple messages to limited users have long since gone. Today email is a complex process with a myriad of options and far beyond the management capabilities of the happy amateur. The i-Tr@der iEmail module represents a new re-evaluation of the whole email process in relation to where we are today, not back in the 1980's when email first became available to the business world. Email over time has become ever more complex, people are using it for far more than it was originally intended, some people run their entire companies almost entirely through their email programs. iEmail challenges some of the established techniques and offers some considerable advantages, such as :-
With the vital importance of email it won't be long before we are required to maintain long history records of emails maybe as much as seven years. Traditional methods will not enable this to take place without a serious rethink of how emails are archived, iEmail is future proofed for these requirements today. below the mail iEmail client window, folders - left, messages, top right, preview - bottom - Figure 018.01

Integration with other modules iEmail like CMS is at the centre of the i-Tr@der business platform. Email is one of the most important business tools today and integrating this function completely into the company's business systems is a revolution in email technology. The iEmail application links to CMS for both preparing new emails for a Contact and also for filing both incoming and outgoing messages. Irrespective of who has sent the email to the contact and to whom the contact has sent back an email the Contact record itself will have all the correspondence completely independently of users mailbox's. Deleting an email from a mailbox has no impact on the email itself which remains viewable via the Contact record. File attachments and Documents are a large part of emailing in todays business world. iEmail takes the next step in email technology and sends attachments as links to the files only. This reduces the internet traffic, never falls foul of mail size restrictions and allows multiple sends of the same file in a single step through the Virtual File Server (VFS). Storing Documents and Files in the VFS means that they can be easily sent NOT as attachments but as Links. The additional benefit is that the sender will receive an email when the file is opened and the Logfile for the Document will have entries everytime a recipient opens the file. Below are some other screen shots from the iEmail module :- Detail display of an incoming email All emails can be previewed via the email preview pane in the main iEmail mailbox window. Clicking the Email View icon in the preview pane opens a new window and displays the complete message for better readability. below viewing the email message in it's own window - full size - Figure 018.03
Last 100 email addresses used When preparing an email the integration with other parts of the system becomes highly useful. There are 5 methods for selecting recipients to send emails to: (1) CMS, (2) Personal address books, (3) System Users, (4) Favourites, (5) Last 100 email addresses used. Pre defined Distribution lists are also another potential recipient. The iEmail system solves many of the problems of independently managed Contact lists with email addresses, rather focussing the company on improving the quality of centrally held data as this is the basis on which emails and other modules function. below viewing the last 100 email addresses used - Figure 018.04
